Very interesting. I like the perspective taken from Luke in the New Testament coupled with secular historians from that time. The book couples a modern perspective of Israel with an ancient perspective.

I recently visited the Holy Land and visited many, if not all, of the sites in this book. I really wish I'd had this book prior to going on my trip. It would have really enriched my visit even more. The author is great in summarizing the relevant historical perspective of each site and also putting it into the context of today and what today's visitor will encounter!!

I just returned from a trip to Israel with Peter Walker as our guide and this book helped recall what he had told usl

Marvelous photography and a thoughtful, illuminating text make Peter Walker's wonderful book an important addition to a Christian's home library. Non-Christians will learn a great deal, too. And if planning a trip to the Holy Land, I consider this book essential to read before setting off to your destination.

Probably the best book for anyone planning a visit to Israel or returning from such a trip, like me, and wanting to find out more details of what you saw. Great photos and stories of explanation. I loved seeing places where I had actually viisted, down to the benches that I actually sat on. Great book!
