I'll admit I was skeptical when I got this. However, I have now made five of the dishes from this book and each one has been better than the last: the Spicy Brussels Sprouts (yummy), the Risotto with Peas and Greens (very creamy despite using no dairy), the Chickpea and Tuna Salad (fresh and delicious), the Turkey Meatballs (savory), and the Crazy Good Fish Tacos (amazing). What I love about these dishes, besides the fact that they are very clean, is that they are very easy to modify. For example, the Chickpea and Tuna salad calls for arugula, and we didn't have any in the fridge, so I substituted spinach. Delicious. And the Spicy Brussels Sprouts-- Gwyneth's recipe calls for fish sauce, which my husband hates. So I left it out. No problem, still yummy. I also tried adding pine nuts to the risotto, and it was excellent. So instead of using this book verbatim, I'm using it more as a guideline of how to combine ingredients in new and creative ways. It's working for my husband and me. The only downside of this book is that the descriptions of the dishes are pretty pretentious (e.g. she calls arborio rice a "beautiful grain", but it's tolerable as long as the food comes out well). I'm posting photos of the fish tacos, and the garbanzo/tuna salad and also risotto and peas.

I'll start out by stating I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2009. I asked my gastro if it was from food, at that time the doctors didn't know. On March 18, 2013 I tried an elimination diet. Wow. I cannot eat the following; gluten, dairy, soy, and eggs. In 2015 I was informed from a different doctor they now know dairy and gluten is not good for people with Crohns and Colitis. I also stay away from GMOs and buy organic as much as possible. I had a colonoscopy July 2017, no active Chrons and I do not take meds. I recognize this is not the case for some people.I purchased this book because I'm tired of making bland, same old food. I've already made a few recipes and they've been great! Her book is GF and DF. There are some soy ingrediants. I simply swap for almond or cashew substitutes. I made the Old Bay Ranch dressing. It's the bomb! Also made a soup, olive chicken, and the Sweet Potato & Five spice muffins. I attached the recipe with my notes. I couldn't find the five spice powder, looked it up and made substitutions of four spices that equaled 1 1/2 tbsp.Definitely worth the money! I'll use this for many years! Don't hesitate! Buy it.

If I could give this 4.5 stars, then I would. The recipes we have tried are delicious, but there are quite a few ingredients that the average cook does not have and would have to hunt down at specialty stores (and they are typically $$$). Also, if you could get over the fact that there are nearly as many photos of GP as the actual recipes, you’d love this book. She might be a bit extreme in her diet and lifestyle regime, but dang, that lady can cook! And she gives recipe credit where credit is due, which is great. I also love that every single ingredient packs both a nutritional and flavorful punch.So in a nutshell, it’s wirth getting if you are willing to spend the extra money on ingredients.

About 8 months before my wedding me and my husband basically ate almost exclusively from this book and worked out. I was very pleased with the results. I swear by this book. Whenever we want to lose a few inches we always say "Time to go gwennie". The chickpea cauliflower mustard dish is to die for. There is even a gluten free guilt free fried chicken recipe.

I have her other cookbook, It's All Easy, which I also frequently use. Both are great resources with easy, healthful, tasty recipes that don't require a lot of expensive or hard to find ingredients (unless you live in the boondocks). I have made nearly every single recipe in both books.

this is looonggg overdue (like 2 years ha) but i'm only writing this review because i can't believe that everyone did not give this 5 stars! I own WAY too many cookbooks and most of them (after I try a few recipes that end up looking great and tasting meh) end up gathering dust on them - i'll peruse them, trying too make something but often the recipes are just too trendy (who needs another beet salad or kale chip recipe) or are supposedly healthy but casually have like 5 lbs of raw cashews per serving (i'm half-asian and didn't grow up with nuts galore, so i have trouble feeling great after eating such foods). so, i totally guffawed when i first found out gwyneth authored a cookbook - she's a bit out of touch with us normal "commonfolk." however, i LOVE this cookbook - it is by far the most used cookbook book i have owned - it's all splattered with oil and dog-eared. i haven't honestly made one recipe that wasn't amazing, and i'm not the best of cooks (ha, i'm a struggler in the kitchen! just an aspiring cook). but, really - i end up making her recipes on weeknights when I want something quick and delicious and I'm tired to forking over way too much $$ for regretful whole foods/trader joes ready-to-go (well, i still do that when i'm super lazy). i don't find the recipes boring or flavorless at all! i think if you focus on the fact that she co-authored it with cool chic julia turshen, you'll let yourself love this cookbook!

My favorite book of hers, great low sugar ideas and good recipes-not a bunch of fried junk. This is my favorite book of hers, my favorite recipe is the Vietnamese Salad-it tastes like its from a high end restaurant!

I am really enjoying the recipes in this cookbook! Partically the healthy desserts - anything berry crumble is a crowd pleaser and the banana ice cream -- both which are easy to make! As well as the recipes for kids - healthy chicken fingers.
