This series of books is one of our LO's favorite. He'll cycle through handing me the Eye Book, Nose Book and the Ear Book and stay engaged through the whole thing. Fun book to read with your LO. I plan to add the Foot Book soon as well as others.

My great nephew loved it. Just like my grandchildren did. It makes it easy for kids to point and learn to say a word. I'm sure I'll buy more of this particular book, as another niece is expecting, and I wouldn't want her to be without it when she starts reading to the baby.

Great little book! Perfect for bedtime reading and compact enough to travel with. We've been reading this book to our daughter since she was under 1. She's almost 2.5 now and still loves it.

You probably spend $10 at league on drinks or a snack, so spend $10 here and start impressing your bowling buddies with more strikes and spares! FYI, I'm a Bronze level coach, and I definitely learned a bunch from this book.

Although this is the first full-length bowling book I've read, it's hard to imagine one being more rigorously analytical or more complete. I state my opinion after having dutifully read countless articles and watched innumerable videos over the years.The writing style reflects the analytical experience that the authors must have already undergone: they first present popular (mis)conceptions and (mis)understandings and critique them, before describing and rigorously supporting their own conclusions. This writing approach adds significantly to the length of the book, but I presume it was adopted to help cement the reader's understanding.Early on, they say theirs is not a "how to" book, though in fact abundant practical advice is peppered throughout.Most analyses were well supported, though I (as an engineer) took issue with a couple of points the authors made. First, though they are correct in noting that an "n%" faster delivery of an "n%" lighter ball delivers more kinetic energy to the pins than a slower delivery of a heavier ball, they seem to assume that humans will always deliver a lighter ball faster--which is not the case for everyone's style. Also, their criticism of the 3-6-9 spare shooting system seems to involve a faulty analysis based on their focus on the board at which the ball crosses the foul line, rather than on foot placement at setup on which the 3-6-9 system is in fact based.Regardless, the book is full of self-evidently solid analysis and clear presentation, with the terribly grueling mathematics wisely relegated to appendices. Wisely, they close their book by modestly encouraging others to pick up where their book leaves off.This book's clear, comprehensive, analytical approach should make it a healthy study and a good reference for years to come.

If you want to geek out, the math is all there... if you want to just know results, you don't have to get bogged down in the math... if you want a little of both, and everything in between, it's all there.This is the "You Don't Know Jack!" of Bowling. This was purchased by my wife who is a new bowler and had researched for an informative book on the subject. Of the five she tried, this book was the most effective at explaining what happens from the ball leaving the hand through to the striking of the pins. She has found that, with a clearer understanding of the physics of the process her game scores have improved and are continuing to improve.

I started reading this book shortly after recieving it, and (so far) find it easy to read, with lots of interesting detailed information. Some things have opened my eyes on different aspects of bowling, while other things confirm information previously known.Only in chapter four, and have lots of highlighted areas, I will reread several times, and reference back to in the future.

This book has a lot of repair information, and will assist a newbie amplifier repairman quite well. As it turned out, the major part of the book contains vintage schematics, which is quite all right with me. I would have liked a broader and more informative section on amplifier bias adjustments, and the different methods of performing them. This author obviously knows what he is talking about, and I respect that. I would have liked to meet the man and talked with him. This book is well worth a place on your technical book shelf.

Although I'm a retired Civil Engineer, a performing guitarist for 50 years and owner of 7 vintage tube amps and 2 modern tube amps, I guess I wasn't smart enough to "get" this. I wanted to get a good understanding of how the circuits work, but didn't quite get there. Maybe it's more for a guitar amp repairman than someone wanting to understand the workings of guitar amps in detail.

This is a very comprehensive book on guitars and amplifiers which should be of interest to any musician or student entering the electronics field. I bought the first version almost 35 years ago when I was in a rock band using Fender Bandmaster equipment. It was just a skinny little handbook back then. Jack Darr just keeps getting better!

Good to have if you plan on repairing tube amps.

As one who owns stacks of guitar amplifier books, I bought this one after seeing a mention of it. To sum it up, it was a book for a TV repair shop who wanted to work on guitar amplifiers. This is how many amp techs got their start in the business (when there was little info out there). It had a few bright spots on problem solving, but it far from best in its class. It has no understanding of tone and is very old school (amplifiers are not to distort). Most of the book is schematics (second half). What little I got from this book was in testing (for repairs) that will help somewhat in building amplifiers. But overall, I did learn some things to fill some holes in my knowledge and you may do so too. But if you are looking at this because you like vintage amps it is pretty much a bad choice these days and the old school advice is simply bad advice. The basic premise is to get an amp to work again nothing more. There is also a lot of not very important information. OK, it is a classic and folks way back when loved it, but there are so many books out there now, it really does not cut it now. On the other hand, so many people wanted this book that is was reprinted in 2006 when the last printing was 1977. So it is OK buy this to fill in your book collection or pick something up, but realize there is not really that much here. (If you know nothing about electronic repair it may have more value to you in that regard only, then you need to get all the current info from all the other books that are available). Also you are not going to fix your own amplifier if that is what you want to do. Bring it to a good amp tech, they really are not expensive compared to auto repairs.

Most innovative cookbook I've come across, with the whole thing built around a series of salsas and condiments. Each condiment is the key ingredient is several recipes. The directions are clear, the book is very visually appealing, and so far all the recipes we've tried are delicious. A very different take on the usual Mexican cookbook. No wonder Sanchez is a superstar chef!

LOVE THIS BOOK!!! Anyone who aspires to learn Mexican cooking or just loves big flavor needs to own this book. Garlic Love, Roasted tomatillo Salsa and Arron's Adobe are worth price. I've used the Adobe on Pork tenderloin and chops, cooked over charcoal and stove top, it has become my go to rub. The title literally say's it all.

I really admire Aaron's dedication to elegant simplicity. His recipes can be prepared by anyone, and enjoyed by everyone! I've enjoyed watching his show, and have enjoyed having those recipes on hand. I've probably said "Man, That Looks Awesome!" a hundred times watching the show, now I know that it really is!

I am a fan of Aaron's Food Network shows. I have been wanting this book and finally got it. I am not Mexican, but enjoy the cuisine. The recipes are easy to make, but because I'm new to Mexican cooking, I'm trying out one recipe at a time. So far I am loving it! More power to you, Aaron (and more cookbooks too)!!!

Aaron Sanchez is one gifted man-he communicates his love,recipes & creativity brilliantly. I have no real experience with Latin style food yet leafing thru this cookbook I want to make & store in my fridge every sauce,pesto,paste,rub & salsa in it! Brilliant lay out,great pictures & brief well written inspiring notes & suggestions. I'm ready for some heat!

Still reading.. Love this guy on TV and that coolness of his comes across in the book.

I really liked the start of Queen Elizabeth Tudor: Journey to Gloriana where a boy of thirteen years old is on board of ship that's destined for the New World is about to tell the story of Queen Elizabeth I. It was a cute start.Queen Elizabeth is probably one of my favorite historical figures ever so I did know a little bit about her life from previous books I've read. This was a quick of about 90 pages so it doesn't take long at all to read it, which is always a bonus. I do love reading short historical books. I'd really recommend it for those who don't like longer books like it but still want to learn more about the life of Elizabeth.Just like the story about Catherine de Valois that I read previously I still wouldn't call this a full nonfiction as there are fictional conversations. But that doesn't mean it wasn't enjoyable because it is. A unique and creative story about Queen Elizabeth I.

Edward and his family are headed to the New World. On board he meets a young girl who asks about Queen Elizabeth. Edward tells the history of Queen Elizabeth Tudor. Queen Elizabeth becomes queen when her sister, Queen Mary, dies. Her best friend, Robert Dudley, accompanies her throughout her life. Well written and includes some wonderful romance. This book gives you information you may have missed about Queen Elizabeth Tudor. Raw emotion and scandalous happenings keep you turning the pages of this book. I found no issues I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because it really gave me a greater understanding of Queen Elizabeth Tudor. ~Copy of book provided by author and I voluntarily reviewed it.

At first I was a little taken aback at the simple approach to history - I expected a very detailed long account. I did like the storytelling and the important points of Queen Elizabeth I's life was touched on - but not in depth so as not to lose the reader. Robert Dudley was a very important figure in the Queen's life from childhood - but not much was mentioned about how much he was envied and hated for having the queen's favor.I would have liked a little more about the Queen after the defeat of the Spanish Armada.But all in all it was an enjoyable read and encourage others to read it as well who love history.

New information is hard to come by, even a new approach cannot make history come life. Each character feels blown in and blown out barely touching.
