There are some deficiencies in the weapons lists. There is a Rome centric view that doesn't effortlessly sync with the outer regions of the empire like Gaul, Britania, Egypt, Greece, Asia Minor, or N. Africa. It's great if you're a resident of Rome and the immediate vicinity between Julius Caesar and Titus, but once you leave there, the Keeper will have to do a lot of historical research and develop the scenery. Invictus has the potential to be a great CoC addition, it just needs some more detail for the keeper on later empire and outer empire customs, peoples, weapons, clothing, etc.This isn't an adventure book. It has a few scenarios for short games exposing you to the environment, but it's up to the keeper to come up with full campaigns.

Chaosium publisher has gone insane. First the middle ages, now the roman era. A pleasant book with lots of ideas and scenarios, new mythos creatures, tomes and rules. And rules for ancient combat (you can stab a Gug with a Scorpion!). The only flaw I saw was the way they describe the Olympian Gods; not a good idea.If you like fantasy or historical games with notes of terror, you will like this book. If you play CoC and want new scenarios you will like it too.

I am almost finished reading this book as of this review. The maps are great and the information is very well put together and detailed. The amount of raw setting gives one the ability to run whatever and wherever one wishes, but not at the expense of it being too boxed-in! Great Product!

This book is well researched and provides an evocative view of the mythos in ancient Rome. I picked it up purely for reading pleasure and I am finding that to fulfills that nicely. It is only a basic primer though, their is still much research to do flesh out some of the surrounding territories in the ancient world. It has a nice section on different cults of this age.

The Invictus Setting is just another slice of goodness for those Investigators who want to go back to the time of the Roman Empire. There are still plenty of horrors waiting for investigators too.

A good supplement for Chaosium's Call of Cthulu game system. This provides a high level overview of the late Roman Empire such that players, or GMs, can run games based in this milieu—with some further detailed research on their own. Good map, abundant illustrations that tie in well with the text and decent references make this one to buy for any COC GMs or players seeking to expand their scenario pool. I only gave it four stars, rather than five stars, because of the purely high level overview thrust of this book; it is well written and laid out.

This is a great supplement and it has amazing information on Ancient Rome, and about the monsters found in Rome too. The scenario that comes with it, "Prophylaxis Panacea Efqa" is pretty well written for a beginning of the time period, and is looks like it may need about 2 or more investigators to play in it. Other than that, this is well made and I recommend it to all who want to play in Ancient Roma! Happy playing and Merry Cthulhu!

I would highly recommend Cthulhu Invictus for anyone that loves ancient Rome. Its a great supplement and a great time. I would also like to give the seller a very high review for providing swift shipping and great product

I bought "How to Hug" to read to my twin grandchildren when they get a little older. I read over the book and thought it was rather blah.The illustrations are better than the story, which I thought had some strange ideas about hugs. Never hug anyone when they are angry? Hmmm...what better time does someone need hugging? I did like that one section said it was alright to say no to a hug.Some of the illustrations were cute but a bit off, too, showing children hugging an opossum and other wild animals. I guess I should have known - the cover has a child hugging an elephant.Maybe I've been away from children's books too long but this one definitely wasn't a favorite of mine.

I enjoyed the book which I purchased to read to my Granddaughter. I ran into some technical difficulties. The book does not work on my kindle or iPad. My phone let me check it out, but I struggled enlarging the words. Perhaps you could get your tech team to research it. Thank you.

I think everybody in the family loved this book. Even the little kid we bought it for. One of our grandson's is not a "hugger". So his parents says he can just shake hands, and nobody insists. This book is just perfect for little people who do not want to be swallowed even by loving swoops of relatives. This book is full of respect, affection, humor, and really cheerful children and animals.

This is one of the most amazing books on furniture I've ever encountered. The author includes history of the campaign furniture, uses, and personal references from historical letters and sources. The photos are really good because they show the assembled piece and folded or disassembled views. Advertisements and historical illustrations accompany the text. A list of manufacturers and their specialties is also included. The book also includes other traveling accessories such as grooming kits, candle stands, game tables and decanter cases used by the discerning and civilized traveler. The history covers military and domestic use of these items and their popularity outside military imperial use.

This a unique book. I haven't seen any other resource on the web or in print on this subject. However, I have come across a website for an Indian company which manufactures furniture in style of old safari gear. Check out www.jandrguram.com to see some wonderful pictures of camp seating, folding tables, and portable liquor cabinets even if you don't plan to order anything.

As a survivor this book is invaluable. I have found the confirmation from other survivors and Dr Miller staggering. It is one thing to know you are not alone, it is an entirely different experience to have the proof in you lap. I highly recommend going through it with your own therapist though. Dr Miller is kind but doesn't pull any punches. From page one she assumes that the reader has come for truth and tools for healing. She and the survivors she has worked with deliver on both counts. If you are a clinician and working with mind control/ritual abuse survivors please read this. If you don't know the lay of the land... Well meaning people in your profession have hurt me while assuming they are helping most of my adult life. Dr Miller knows what she is talking about.

Utterly excellent resource. Provides the broadest overview and context of the abuse/trauma/torture endured by so many, and this is helpful as a framework for the very difficult work of healing or "putting the pieces together." Although recommended for professionals, and not for survivors, I found this book easier to digest than book Alison Miller wrote specifically for survivors "Becoming Yourself." Becoming Yourself: Overcoming Mind Control and Ritual Abuse I find it is easier to create distance by reading from a third person point of view (as in Healing the Unimaginable), than by reading the words aimed at a survivor which include exercises to work through (as in the Becoming Yourself book). Thoroughly recommend, and especially hope that many professionals will benefit from the years of experience that Alison Miller has taken the time to share, in order to help heal many.

This book is very informative for anyone who works with SRA patients. This book has information that is hard to find except from other therapists. After reading the information about "spinning", I was immediately able to help a patient who was experiencing recurrent dizziness. It is hard to read some of the stories, and not the kind of book you'd read cover to cover in a day or two.

This is an exceptionally informative, yet graphic, book. It is incredibly difficult to find training and information on this topic that is experienced and credible, but Miller does it. She should be commended for her courage to publish this book. Be warned, the subject material is can be very difficult to read and process. It is highly recommended that survivors do NOT read this book.

Being a victim my self, this was invaluable.

Not for survivors or the faint of therapeutic heart. Very helpful for understanding the framework and mindset necessary for working with these folks.

This is a very heavy book intended for therapists dealing with DID. It explodes with information. The unfortunate part of this is that I have lots more questions about almost every page I read!
