Can't believe how lousy this book is. We just went to Cancun, and much of the information here is out of date. The "must-see" place claimed by the book such as las Pallapas, is just an empty, run-down, lifeless square in the afternoon. Surroundings of the square looks unpleasing as well. Can't find any really useful tip for Cancun.

I have travelled quite a bit through the years and have always relied on Frommer's and Fodor's, but Moon blows them away! Fantastic insights, great suggestions. I just planned my honeymoon using this book and located a wonderful hotel that the travel agents don't know about! I will use Moon guides from now on!

This was a very informative book. Though it did not give the info I needed for hotels otherwise a helpful book.

I like this book alot and love the different sections on area, flora/fauna, language, history, etc. I do wish they would come out with a new version though, 2004 is pretty old for a such a huge tourist area!

I used to be a loyal lonely planet buyer, until I got my hands on this book. The maps, detail, and recommendations were spot on, from the restaurants to the accomdations to the activities. The only time that we had anything other than an excellent meal in Cozumel was when we went to a place recomended by someone in the hotel, as opposed to what was recommended in this book. The detail on each location is very informative. I took three guidebooks with me to Cozumel (fine, I admit it, I am guidebook obsessed), and next time I would take nothing other than this one. In fact, based on this trip, I would pick a Moon guide every time I travel. The section on the Mayan ruins was especially informative. I took the book's recomendation to travel to Coba instead of Tulum, and I was not disappointed.One disclaimer--I only went to Cozumel and Coba, so I can't speak for how good this book is for Cancun and Playa Del Carmen.

This is by far the best guidebook to Cancun and surrounding area out there. The depth is incredible; the authors mention somewhere that they stayed in Cancun for two months, and it shows. It's not just Cancun either - the coverage of Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, the Mayan ruins, and all up and down the coast is excellent. The problem with some guides (Lonely Planet, Frommers, etc) is they "take sides" - they're either too cynical about "gringos on vacation" or totally ignore anything that's not sold in a package. The Moon book really showed both sides: from beaches and nightclubs and five-star restaurants, to museums and Mayan ruins and street food. (Real culture in Cancun - who knew??) There's also good suggestions for people traveling with kids, another complaint of mine about some guides. We got all the R&R we wanted, plus a few things I didn't expect. Moon isn't a well-known name, but this book is worth getting.

I like this guide because of how easy it is to read. Most travel books are arranged by activity (hotels, sights, restaurants, etc.), but this is by area, which makes it very easy to find what you are looking for. Like any travel book, there are things which are out-of-date, but that should be expected; one should never whole-heartedly trust any one information source, especially when it pertains to travel. Used in tandem with another guide book and/or the internet, this is an excellent tool.

My toddler is absolutely in love with the Franklin books. They are beautifully illustrated and they are the perfect length for a bedtime reading. You can stop and discuss these stories with the young kid and relate them to real life behavior and they are a great teaching tool.

My daughter told me my 2- year old grandson loves the song Wheels on the Bus, so I thought he would love this book. He lives across the country from where I live so I had it sent directly to him. Accordingly, I have never seen it but my daughter told me he is delighted with it.

The book itself is really cute and my 2 yr old daughter loves the song and loves books. But the song plays over and over really loud and you can’t stop it until it plays all the way through! So annoying. Don’t recommend if you want to keep your sanity!

I guess I should have known from the price that something was up with it. It is a tiny little book about 6" x 6". I thought it was going to be just like the other beautiful pop-up book I purchased because it advertised this on its back cover. When I searched on Amazon I found it listed at several different prices and I just thought I found myself a really good deal on it, but that's because I bought the SMALL ONE! It only has 3 pages and 3 pop-ups. Save your money or buy the regular sized one!!

A great find for my grandson who loves every version of Wheels on the Bus there is. Needed a few batteries when we received it, but after those were replaced all the sounds came alive.We are very happy with this purchase.

This is a really small book and it only plays the melody. It's also missing some parts of the song in it. I don't think it's worth the price.

I received this wonderful book two days before its scheduled delivery date (thanks, Amazon) and read it in four hours - couldn't put it down. The illustrations are as splendid as the well-researched, well-written text. I would imagine that this is the best available introduction to Frida Kahlo - "Frida for Beginners," so to speak, and I'm a beginner. It may not be her most thorough or deepest biography but it provides an excellent survey of this tragic artist and her remarkable work and life. Especially compelling is her amusing (I think that's the appropriate definition) bi-sexuality and stormy marriage to Mexico's great muralist, Diego Rivera. Without a great deal of effort, you can weep while reading of Frida's struggles against life-long physical torment and disability. Art-lovers, read this.

Kahlo has been of interest to me for quite a while now. I own another book on her, and still found this one to be delightful and informative in an easy-going style. I highly recommend the book, the photographs of Frida, at all ages, plus examples of her artwork make this a book which received a special slot on the bookcase.

I like this book very much....I purchased it mostly for the photographs which are large and good quality. I took off one star because the cover is quite flimsy for a hardcover book.... but still a good buy considering the price.

If you are a fan of Frida Kahlo then this Book must be added to your collection...I Love it !!!

I received this book as a gift, and love it so much, I purchased it for a dear friend of mine. She loves it, too! I highly recommend it to any Frida Kahlo fan. It is an extraordinary book, with excellent descriptions of her life and her works.

Once those basics are mastered, additional chapters (one step at a time) provide incrementally more details, allowing the scorekeeper to be as detailed as desired/necessary.Throughout the book, examples are provided with prose describing a game situation, followed by illustrations to show exactly how the given scenario should be documented in the scorebook. Those who already know the basics of scorekeeping but want to get better will find this well worth the money. Even though I considered myself an intermediate scorekeeper, I found there were a few helpful hints in the beginners section that I'd never heard before -- those things that seem obvious once you hear them, but aren't so obvious until then. The intermediate and advanced sections provide clear information as to what constitutes an error (and what does not), and by the time the book has been completed, the scorekeeper should be able to provide a detailed account of the ball game, including all the relevant statistics.

My son is a Highschool sophmores and I never played the game. This keeps me busy and quiet and some day he will be able to look back on a nice record of his games.The book builds you up from simple basics to tracking every pitch and runner.

This book did not show you how to actually show you how to draw letters and calligraphy. Very disappointed in this one.

Enjoyed this book. Well worth the time. A great many tips, and generally speaking I found it a very good introduction to the art of calligraphy. The illustrations helps a lot. Many interesting notes, and ideas. Any beginner should find their starting point pretty easily here! From producing your first scroll, and onwards. I want to use calligraphy to try and make some extra money with diplomas and signs, and the book covers this too. Very good read!

Calligraphy is one of the most classic writing styles and I find it very beautiful and sophisticated. This book gives its history and how it has grown through the years. Calligraphy gives a ‘premium feel’ to any item you put it on. It takes some practice to be able to do it beautifully and this book inspired me to do that as it gives easy to follow techniques. I honestly think we should never take this for granted and we should not always rely on computers.

You soon learn in reading a summary of a rather complex subject that a quick review can be fun and even educational, but it always leaves you hungry. This is one of those. It will at least cause you to go off and get more information, if that is really your original intent of becoming an acceptable amateur. The emphasis here should be on the word "beginners" and there is no hint at moving on to "expert."

I was really disappointed that were not true calligraphy alphabets to use as a visual for practice. All of the sample alphabets looked exactly the same and looked like Times New Romans.

Ok not as helpful as some other books i gave.

I particularly enjoyed going over all the lettering as I had learned & printed many of these styles in my younger years. It Is a form of expressing words in an such a picturesque way & so beautiful to behold.

This book is extremely informative on the history of lettering. However I was hoping it would be more a workbook for practicing the art of lettering. I did find the details of lettering intriguing though.

The author seems to be very confused about the difference between essential oils and expressed fatty oils. Oils such as argan oil and evening primrose oil are not essential oils. This book is full of many errors and I do not recommend it for anyone who is serious about learning about essential oils. In fact a great many of the recipes for skin care products she provides in this book don't contain any essential oils whatsoever. There are a great many books available that would be far more helpful than this one.

This is a good reference for the hobby user looking to make these things at home for whatever reason. My skin care products were not doing it for me. I had recently started using oils, and I wanted to try to custom design a regimen for myself. This book is a good start for that. Since reading this book, I have gone even deeper into various carrier oils and creams and what each one brings to the table, but this book will give you enough good information to design, build, and tweak a really good line just for you, and other custom products for others in your family with needs different from your own. I recommend this for the serious oil hobbyist.

I learned a lot about essential oils from this book and it has a few nice recipes for homemade facial serums and others as well. I have already begun to use my first homemade serum and so far so good. It is wise to write down the exact amounts you use as you personalize your serum so you can know what needs to be changed if anything. It sure beats the cost of purchasing it! The ingredients are an investment as well but the rewards are a lot of savings and it will pay for itself in no time at all.

I thought this book was interesting and I will try a few recipes. However, I have trouble with books that don't appear to have been reviewed for errors before publishing. I read the Kindle version. I often wonder if these errors also appear in the print version. For instance, the recipe for Chamomile Lavender Sugar Scrub for Combination Skin lists both salt and lavender twice with no amounts given for sugar or chamomile. Obviously, one of the salt amounts should be for sugar and one of the lavenders should be chamomile. Another ingredient line in the same recipe says "1/2 baking soda". 1/2 what? Cup? Tablespoon?The author also lists several essential oils that should only be used alone, then proceeds to use several of these in recipes where they are combined with other essential oils. This was frustrating. An explanation as to why she was breaking her rule about their use would have added credibility.In summary, it was interesting but I would have preferred if the author had paid more attention to detail while writing the book.

I have been making my own lotions, lip glosses etc for a while now, so this book while helped to give me some additional ideas wasn't as helpful as it would be for a first time or beginner looking to start off with some basic recipes or ideas.
