I love this series! You can never have too many copies of your favorite series. I've already reviewed each book in this series separately, and own the hard copies of this series, but wanted to also own the paper back versions. While I love the box set, the only compliant I have is that the books are smaller than I was excepting them to be. They're smaller than a standard paperback. I'd still recommend this box set for fans of the TID series.

Clockwork Princess is the stunning conclusion to Cassandra Clare’s the Infernal Devices trilogy. The pacing of the third book is much brisker than its predecessor and immediately drags you into the plot. There are also significantly more scenes with action in them, which help to break up the scenes that steadily move the story along. As with the previous books, the story is very character-driven and continues to bring further depth to each character’s personality.Will continues to be my favourite focus of any scene with his witty comments and sense of humour. It was nice to see him play off his sister at times, because normally only Tessa can manage Will. Although they have been apart for many years they still have a wonderfully authentic relationship, like how easily she is able to get under his skin. Will and Jem’s parabatai relationship, as it was in the previous books, is so real that you can easily imagine the love they have for one another, the pain each feels when the other is hurt, and how they would do anything for each other.It was nice to see the continued development of characters that we’ve grown to love, as well as the new faces that have joined the familiar at the Institute. The number of important characters does not ever feel overwhelming or confusing, as each has been given the time to become established and grow in the world that Cassandra Clare has created. I love each and every one of the characters because they are not only true but integral to the story as a whole.Despite having read this entire series before and knowing what will happen – it is still so brilliantly written that it elicits myriad emotions throughout. Each character feels real and their lives affect your own. A tear slips down my face as one character experiences unbearable pain, while another comes at the thought of losing a character I’ve grown to love so much. A grin overtakes my face in light of the overwhelmingly happy news. The books that I have grown to love are the ones that speak to you, change you, and will forever stay with you.Clockwork Princess is quite possibly the best series finale that I have read and certainly the best final book in a trilogy. Despite the book causing me to cry, multiple times, I never felt dissatisfied with the conclusion. The story comes to a climactic end, then Cassandra Clare takes the final chapter to pull everything together and the epilogue to make me cry again. I loved re-reading this series so much and hope that you are inspired to read it as well.

My thoughts are really all over the map as I have just finished this book and though it took me quite a long time to finish it, simply because I couldn't get my head back in the game of reading, it turned out to really envelope me emotionally. I literally cried through chapter 23 and the Epilogue. I also found it to be quite satisfying as the ending of the trilogy. Bittersweet feelings for sure as with any trilogy that the story is "over". As I try to keep my reviews spoiler free, let me just say I was pleasantly surprised by my overall feeling of the book upon completion. In the beginning having such a hard time getting into the book I thought "oh boy, I have to read nearly 600 pages on something I'm just viewing as average..." However that really was my own attitude and not in any way an indication of the book itself because after about 100 pages (which is only through chapter 5 mind you) I was hooked. I was down for about a month, maybe more, in a reading slump and the timing just wasn't right for me to pick this one up at the start but I'm super glad I came back to it and finished it. I would have missed out greatly had I not read the ending to a great story. The conclusion left me very satisfied.Now to the good stuff...and be prepared for quotes because the entire book had a lot of great ones that I absolutely must add in my review.Aw...Jem...and Will....these 2 guys have got to be at the top of my favorite male leads in a book list. I can't pick just one as a favorite, though I know many are huge fans of Will, but I can't pick between them (much like Tessa). From their incredibly loyal and deeply connected friendship to their undying love of the same woman, they are what puts the "awe" in "awesome". The relationship between these guys is more than just friendship and more than brotherhood. Honestly I'm not so sure we have any relationship in life that even comes close to the parabatai relationship. At its core is the principal of undying love and sacrifice and devotion."Jem has always given me exactly what I needed in the way I needed it, even when I did not know myself what I required." (Will)Tessa loves Jem and at the end of book 2, Clockwork Prince, she has agreed to marry him. It's not pity that she feels for him, though he is dying, but it's admiration mixed with love. But her heart is torn because she also deeply loves Will. Is it possible to have this kind of deep love for two people at the same time though? That is a question she battles with."A heart divided against itself cannot stand, as they say. You love them both, and it tears you apart." (Magnus)"It was a near incomprehensible tangle, the three of them, but there was one certainty, and that was that there was no lack of love between them."There are many stories being told in this one book, well this whole trilogy really. Aside from the main characters Jem, Will and Tessa, this book also wraps up nicely the stories of Gabriel, Gideon, Cecily, Sophie, Charlotte and Henry. All of the side cast characters are ones that the reader grows attached to through the trilogy, of which I was quite fond of all of them. I would have been disappointed had their story lines not had some closure as well.At the heart this is a story of love. Love of fellow shadowhunters, love of friendship, love of brotherhood, love of soul mates, love of family. For me, these words best describe the themes of this book: love, devotion, loyalty and honor.Favorite Quotes:"It was like I saw your soul in the notes of the music. And it was beautiful." I love the book series, I've read them twice, working on a third time. The reason why I bought the soft cover set is because I wanted the binding art. The covers have a matte feel to them, they are not glossy and the print quality is nice. I also have the mortal instruments set, and they are glossy, and compared to the mortal instruments set, the infernal devices books are taller. Overall the quality is better compared to tmi. Also, it comes in a box, unlike the other series.

This book means a lot to me if only because of the extreme personal circumstances under which I nearly lost it to the Chinese government and the lengths I went to in order to keep it, and other books they deemed inappropriate. If you add my legal fees to the already steep cover price, it's by far the most expensive book I own. I don't regret it for a moment. The stories it tells are fascinating, and represent a truly imaginative, often disturbing twist on the classic stories of Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz. The idea of having three characters experience sexual awakening in different ways and meet each other in their adulthood is truly unique and original. I enjoyed the illustrations that accompanied the story and my enjoyment wasn't mere base pleasure in something "pornographic" (though that's hard to avoid). It was in the way the stories overlap, the way the women change throughout the years, the way their modern stories and the looking glass contrast with their childhood recollections, and the way World War I looms over everything as a malignant spectre. This book now also perfectly represents to me what it means to be free -- free to take classic characters and change them, free to express art through sensuality, and free to read what you want to read without fear of reprisals and without the need to explain yourself to a bunch of Chinese customs inspectors. I grant this book 5 stars for its incredible power to defy the censors and to inspire me to fight for what's right.

This book is probably one of the most provocative things I've ever read! Alan Moore has such a mastery of the form, the way the images betray the words, the words betray the imagery. Such a beautiful look at the origins of prudishness, and the privilege Capitalism affords the rich to ignore society. The artwork is stunning, shifting from fin-de-siecle decadence to Tijuana Bible with the turn of a page. I'm a big fan of Moore's work, and often thought this to be a lark of his, but it's actually quite thematically hefty, with a lot to "say" (however you want to interpret that). This book made me uncomfortable. And I liked how it made me feel uncomfortable. And on top of that it's such a supremely enjoyable read. Really great. Strangely moving. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I am going to say Lost Girls was an oddly wonderful graphic novel. For those who want to call it porn, go right ahead. In my opinion, I think those who call it porn are degrading this book. I think of this more as erotica or a work of art. Yes, there is a ton of sex within the pages of this book and yes, it gets very graphic at times, but I think calling this porn is totally missing the point of the book. If you think this is porn then it sure has a lot going on for a simple sex story. It is actually smart if you read between the lines.I will be honestly I was afraid to read this comic book with all the sex. It has been on my list for a long time though. I love Alan Moore and the things he creates. The weirder the comic, the better I like it I find. Lost Girls had a ring of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and his Promethean. The biggest reason I wanted to read this book was the fact used the stories of Alice in Wonderland, the Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan. Like the LXG comic books. It is like Promethean in the fact the art changes in each chapter, making it seem like there is several artist when there is only one.The plot of the book is a “what if” type of story. It is all fun and games until the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie are shot.I love how Alan Moore a Melinda Gebbie work together on Lost Girls. For Moore, this book is fairly easy to follow, unless you go down the rabbit hole and focus only on the sex. It is interesting how Moore writes women in his stories too. Usually there are very few, but they are usually the strongest compared to the men. Look at Mina form LXG or Silk Spectre from Watchmen for example. Unlike his other books, I did noticed a slight feminist side to Moore's writing, especially towards the end where the women were praising Alice for not having enough men in her life. I do wonder if Moore did this because he was working with his wife.The other thing about this book that surprised me was how it was intellectual. All I kept hearing about was the sex and controversy behind this book. No one bothered to go into the style of the book or how this was not just a story about sex. It rather shows me that the world still shames anything that involves sex or they put it down. Yet, when people like me read this kind stuff, I also see that it is about religious and moral questionings, social class, literature, the arts, history, realism, insanity, and loss of childhood innocence.The other part I liked about this book was how Moore wrote each character form each story using a non-fanatical element to them. In the Alice in Wonderland parts Alice is at a boarding school and her schoolmates have names of flowers. She is sexually harassed by her PE teacher who is is the counterpart of the Queen of Heart and the Red Queen. In the Wizard of Oz parts, Dorothy is at her farm with three farm helpers (similar to the MGM movie). She as an attraction to her Uncle Henry who is also the Wizard and she fears her Aunt Em who is also the Wicked Witch. With the Peter Pan, parts Wendy and her brothers are playing in a park and meet a boy named Peter. She fears a Captain who tries to rape her, but he fails.I just love the artwork in this book too. Melinda Gebbie does a wonderful job with her paints and colors. Some of the pages in this book should be framed and hung somewhere. Sometimes nudity and sex can bother me in a comic book. Mainly when the artist draws it as something dark and shameful to look at, but not with this book. Yes, some of the acts are horrific in real life, but as Monsieur Rougeur says, you have to decide that what is real and that which is fake. If you think like that, this book will not bother you as much.Honestly if you are a fan of Alan Moore and like his dark twisted mind, I highly recommend this book.

Ok, yes, I guess this could technically be listed as an "erotica" novel. But it's so much more. The envisioning of our old favorite fairy tales through the lens of feminine sexuality is very clever. It plays upon the Jungian idea that many fairy tales (little red riding hood, etc) ARE about seuxal awakening. This book works on many, many levels. I could see scholarly essays being written about it in the future.

Wonderful story and artwork. I love the concept of this book, using your most classic children's characters and having them shown in a new light.

First off, this book has been called pornography by some, and I just don't see it that way. I feel it falls more under the heading of erotica.That said it is very well written, and well drawn. The style of the art very much matches the style of writing, and changes slightly depending on the character perspective.As with other Alan Moore books, this one has a constant undercurrent that eventually becomes a larger part of the story. Very much worth the asking price, and certainly a fine read.

A different take on the traditional stories of Alice, Dorothy and Wendy, although the sexual nature of the book is not for the under-aged or those of prudish minds. I really liked some of the major illustrations throughout the story that showed the parallel of the original story and Moore's version. An interesting (and titillating!) read.

I'm currently using this to outline for my copyright class. It's nice because it seems to be keyed to my casebook (written by Joyce & Leaffer, et al.), so I thought this would be a good idea. The casebook itself has too many notes and questions at the ends of the cases, making it hard to organize. So, once I add info from this, I plan to follow up with my notes from the casebook.As I'm working on outlining, I'm realizing how utterly AWFUL the grammar is. Four errors in one paragraph? I'm currently being taught that two or three errors in a motion to the court will have the judge thinking less of you as an attorney. MAYBE it's just the Kindle version (doubtful). This, combined with the fact that the content is so general that it almost seems to conflict with the casebook, makes me question whether it's a good idea to use this for outlining. I can see myself eventually eliminating all content and leaving only what I could have gotten from the table of contents. However, given that it is so general, I might end up purchasing the hardcopy version to take with me to the final because it's open book and this is really brief and to the point.I plan to follow up this review when I get my grade. If I get the hardcopy version, I'll also compare that to the Kindle version.

A nice supplement, but extremely dry and boring. Also, don't buy the Kindle version. The version is messed up.

This book, although not having the latest reported cases, repeatedly provided me in a recent copyright litigation the immediate answer I needed. Leaffer has written a highly informative book with a readily useable format. During my recent copyright case, I turned to it often and always found some needed direction or other help.

THis is the best Copyright treatise out there for law students ( You cant haul NIMMER multiple volumes around with you )It is incredibly concise - has all the relevant cases that are the providence of lawschool casebooks. It lays everything out in a logical manner - Doictrine, Case, Policy & Rule ( elements). I highly recommend this. Aslo recommended is the PLI ( Practising Law Institute's ) Copyright Law: A Practioner Guide. ALSO Recommended is the Sum & Substance CD titled Intellectual Property - they absolutely ROCK! - Has a very thorough treatment of Copyright Law & Law School Exam problem solving / pitfalls
